What the Heck is this Blog Even About?

Well?

What is it?

What makes this blog different? Why even have a blog if you don’t have something that make it unique?

So I was talking today, and I was asked what my blog was about; what made it different from the gazillions of other blogs out there. And iI was stunned I didn’t really have a straight answer.

I have been at this for a few months now, and having a “food blog” just isn’t going to cut it as a description anymore. I need to be specific.

So here’s what I got. As it is quite obvious, I have tried on many hat, so to speak, as a food bloger so far. I tried the “what I ate aproach,” and wasn’t really feeling it. Don’t get me wrong, most of the blogs I frequent do talk about what the blogger ate on a given day, and although I may enjoy reading about that, I just didn’t really enjoy writing about that myself as much.

So here’s what I’m going to try to go with for now. I’m not saying this will be the permanent theme of this log from here on out, I’m just saying this is how I think it will go down.

This Blog

A. The Theme

  • Healthy DIY and enjoying every minute of it.

B. Content

  • recipes (mostly)
  • makeovers (taking existent products and making them healthier at home)
  • product reviews
  • resteraunt reviews
  • ocasional “what I ates” (maybe)
  • DIY scenarios (i.e. painting a room, homemade toiletries/cleanng products, etc.)

C. Why?

  • Doing things at home is:

a. cheaper

b. more fun

c. more fulfilling

d. healthier

e. more accomodating to special diets (i.e. vegan, gluten free, etc.)

f. more impressive

Get the point? Okay, say for example there is some line of food products that Jill (imaginary person) likes. But Jill doesn’t want to speand obscene amounts of money on these products, and Jill is a vegan and these products aren’t. Let’s say these products are Jamba Juice smoothies.

Jill comes to this blog (thanks, Jill!) and for however long I need to, posts on this blog would me dedicated to homemade Jamba Juice smoothie recipes made healthier and vegan.

I would also review products and resteraunts so you know what is actaully worth your hard earned dollor. I know it’s not reasonable to make everything yourself.

And all recipes will not be dedicated to makeovers of specific excisting stuff. If I have a brownie

There are so many blogs out there, and I want to give you a reason to read mine. And I am so grateful to you if you are. Thank you.

So if you have any suggestions on stuff you want me to makeover, just le me know. I’m always up for talking!

Enjoy!

-Kelly M.

I'm glad you found your niche in the blogging world! I've learned what works for me and that's informing about nutrition and reviewing nutrition myths or providing nutrition tips. I love sharing advice with others. I also don't like only talking about what I eat...it's boring ha

It is pretty boring to do "what I eats," isn't it? Thank you for leaving such a nice comment!
