I Have a Question…

By Kelly M 42 Comments Jump to Recipe

You know how highly I value your opinion.

So there’s a question that’s been buzzing around in my mind,  and I have to ask it to you.

I have decide that the recipes I post will be vegetarian, low carb, grain free, with low fat/low calorie options. I  love that, you seem to like it, and I’m glad I’ve found my recipe voice.

But, there’s one more thing I need your opinion on before this blog moves ahead to a very exciting future filled with wonderful people like you… Do you want this blog to be just desserts? (No pun intended.)

I’m serious, though. As a trend, my grain free desserts just seem to be a lot more popular than entrees and savory recipes, which is fine by me. I’m so amazingly happy I can create something you like.

So am I wasting both yours and my time by creating and posting savory recipes?

For example, let’s take my Easy Grain Free Pasta.

I was very excited by this recipe, and I seemed to get a pretty positive response to it.

But let’s face it, the response was nothing compared to my Single Serving Grain Free Cake.

I know this is not really a fair comparison, but you get the point. Do you want me to just post grain free desserts, and not entrees?

Now remember, just posting desserts won’t really inconvenience me. I’ll take an excuse to make a ton of healthy sweets any day.

But that dosn’t mean I’ll stop eating normal, savory meals. So when I come across a fantastic grain free, low carb, vegetarian, and delicious recipe, I’d feel pretty bad if I didn’t get to share it with you. But if you don’t want to hear it, that’s fine by me.

I was about to post a recipe for How to Make the Perfect Omelette, but I was wondering if you’d rather get a recipe like Almost Calorie Free Caramel, instead.

Now if I did become a dessert blog, a savory recipe would still pop in from time to time, but it wouldn’t be in regular rotation.

I blog what I love, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about what you have to say. I love you guys, and your opinion is priceless to me.

So just let me know. Do you want me to stop posting savory recipes, and just post desserts? Thank you so much for your input!

Enjoy!

-Kelly M.

Please don't stop the savory! Sure, people may ogle and drool over guiltless sweets recipes, but I always bookmark the savory ones when I come across them! One cannot live on single serving cakes alone! ;)

I just found your blog, but all of your recipes look amazing. Even though I mostly look for breakfast recipes on blogs, I wouldn't want any of your ideas to go unposted.

I have a major sweet tooth so for me to say that I want savory recipes as well as sweet is BIG :) And i've also been meaning to ask this for a while, what is the recipe/dish on your header and can I have some?

I love your recipes, I think more people are willing to comment on sweets because they know more about them but the savory recipes always seem to be the ones I try more often! Whatever you decide I'll still be a reader :-)

Don't stop the savoury please! I think desserts just tend to evoke a stronger emotion in people... and who can blame them.

Its just that people tend to associate desserts with rich, sinful stuff (and who can blame them...?). So guilt-free recipes such as those your post would be very warmly received. But yeah, don't forget about entrees as well. Keep up the good work!

All of your recipes are pretty awesome. I definitely appreciate the savory recipes you post! It may be a fact of the blogosphere and life in general that it's the sweet posts that generate the most traffic, and so as a food blogger the decision to post savory recipes often but not always results in less traffic...

Why limit yourself? I like a variety, and I like seeing recipes that tell me more about you(hope that doesnt sound creepy)and since you don't only eat dessert, I like seeing the savory stuff too.

Great point! Why limit yourself? I can just it be, and if more desserts come out, well, it won't hurt anybody. ;) And that isn't creepy at all! I am honored to be your friend. ;)
