To-Make List

This is a list of recipes for me to tackle. Think of it like a bucket list, but much tastier and less morbid. Give me a dish you would like to see healthified, and I’ll sprinkle my fairy dust and see what I can do. The end result should be a recipe published right here on Foodie Fiasco of your dish that is just as delicious if not more so than the original, and exponentially healthier and basically better in every way. Trust in the fairy dust.

If you would like to see anything added to the list, please leave a comment on this page.

Wow, it’s so awesome to “meet” other high school health nut foodies! I’ve gotta toss in a request for smoothies! I’m always on the hunt for some keepers in the smoothie department :)
P.S.- We have VERY similar stories! So awesome!

  2. Juliana says

Can you also make some more recipes using Almond meal :). Thanks a million xo

    • Emma says

OMG! I was just about to say that as I made some yesterday!! Do you think they would work with powdered erythritol/xylitol?

      • says

Hi Emma! Hmm. I’m not sure about the powdered erythritol/xylitol because I haven’t tried it myself. Could you let me know how to goes if you give it a try? Thank you!

  3. Tessa says

This blog is so great, thanks so much for making my day more exciting!! Please add potato soup to the the list!! I can never resist an overflowing bowl of unhealthy potato soup . . . . Save me!

  4. Jackie M says

    Hi Kelly!

My parents on my Dad’s side are African- American with southern roots. My Grammy is from Georgia and my Granddad from Oklahoma. One thing I love that my Grammy makes is her fried chicken. Mmmmmmm just thinking of it makes me hungry and its 10:00 at night! :) Anyway, I’ve had the the avoid the cholesterol filled, heart clogging deliciousness since I actually wised up about my health. I see you have along list but it would be really nice to see a healthy version of famous fried chicken. All the other recipes I’ve looked for end up tasting way off the original and more like the lovechild of wood shavings and card board. Thanks!

  5. Quinn Alexandra says

Kelly, I would absolutely die for the following foods healthified!
    1. Mint Ice Cream
    2. Pita Bread
    3. Hazelnut Butter
    4. Low- Calorie Gluten Free Pasta
    5. Gluten Free Fake Meats (Chik’n Nuggets, Veggie Meatballs, etc.)
    6. More Donut Recipes!
    7. Low-Calorie Rice?

  6. Danielle says

3 things I would LOVE to see:

Copycat “Salted Nut Rolls” – should be fairly easy, I haven’t even researched it yet but I would love to see you make them. I have to get my dad off of these things.

Healthy Cheesy Tomato Dip – My friend who is now limited to 1,000 calories a day (his doctor said so, because he is so overweight) really wants a healthy version of his favorite dip. He made it with a can of Rotel and half a block of Velveeta cheese (scary, I know). If you could make a healthy version of this, that would be super exciting!

Copycat “Nacho Cheese Doritos” – also for my 1,000 cals a day friend.

I hope to see these in the future! :)

  7. jessica says

  8. jessica says

Whenever (not if ever) you publish a book with these recipes in it, count me in on buying one! And if you ever get more healthy cookbooks out with even MORE recipes, I’m there!

  9. Jess says

I need a good rice pudding recipe…. But a super healthy one! You are a star Kelly! Your blog is amazing! Thanks!

  10. Balsam says

    Hi kelly,
Could you please make a vegan version of Ben&jerrys half baked ice cream.
P.s I love your blog; you are so creative and talented, thanks for sharing your recipes. :)

  11. Ben says

Love your stuff. I made your tomato soup and that was super good (used a can of tomatoes with green chilis in it, gave it a surprising kick). Have you considered making anything that uses a crock pot? I got one recently and would love to try out some recipes other than beef stew and pulled pork.

  12. Alice Beck says

Hey Kelly! Let me just start off by saying you are so intelligent and talented- I adore your site!

I am a Vegan currently living in Tokyo, who happens to be a health nut. I try to stray from grains, I don’t do sugar (love Stevia though!) and I do not use oils (well, except the occasional coconut<3)
I was wondering if you could healthify and veganize the Japanese pastry bread, elon Bread? I've never eaten one before, but apparently it's level of godly is befitting of Mount Olympus.
    Also, healthy vegan marshmallows? o(^o^)o

  13. Mallory says

I’ve been trying so many of your recipes and they are truly awesome! Thank you so much for sharing such happy yumminess! :) I was wondering, do you think you could healthify Dirt Cake? It’s such a nostalgic thing for me and so many of my friends. Thanks again!

  14. Laurel says

Second the Pop Tarts!! I’m allergic to something in them, they make my tongue swell up. Doesn’t always stop me from eating them 😛 But I would love a substitution. Love love love your blog Kelly, very artistic and great recipes. I’m always excited to see your newest creations!

  15. Kerry says

I was wondering if you have any ideas on how to make oatmeal cookies/cookie dough using oats and applesauce. I wanted the recipe to be nut free and sugar free (except for the applesauce and maybe some stevia). Let me know your thoughts or if you have one! I know people make 3 ingredient oatmeal cookies using bananas, chocolate chips, and oats but i was wondering if you think applesauce would work and what the ratio would be.

  16. Chelsea says

Hi from Australia! Just quickly… I really love your website and it’s amazing how low calorie even the most decadent desserts you make are! I love it! I am 15 years old too and I love to be healthy, and your recipes help me achieve that. Now… I was wondering, since it is nearing Christmas, could you please make a healthy/low cal gingerbread? I luuurve it :) Also, do you know any alternatives to shortbread? I love shortbread but it is often sugar and butter loaded and filled with calories. I would love to make low cal YoYo cookies but I don’t think its possible. Thank you so much for everything Kelly!

  17. Melissa says

Tacos would be awesome! I’m around your age and health obsessed too…this website has been a god send. Seriously. Peanut butter with 15 calories? Fudge with 20? Fat free pretzels? What is life??? I love you. Seriously.

  18. says

I would love a cardamom cake, i have a recipe but it’s not healthy. & i sprinkle cinnamon on top of the cake :3 PS: with lots of cardamom!

    Thank you ^^

  19. Maggie says

I just recently stumbled across your blog and I love it! I’m going to go make your “All for one” grain free chocolate cake right now! Maybe sometime you could come up with a grain free breakfast bar of some sort? I have been looking everywhere for a good recipe! Thanks!

  20. Sofie says

Can’t wait till you make them :)
    Any idea when?

Maybe you could healthify praline filling, lemon curd, pastry cream and speculoos (especially the latter 😉 )

  21. lindsey randall says

I would love to see you “health-ify” cereal. I know you have already done granola, but could you make a lower calorie cereal? I love granola as much as the next person, buts it’s pretty calorie dense…

    Please and thank you!

  22. Amber says

agree with the list above… definitely need some healthy twix, fererro rochere, sticky buns, enchiladas, sheppards pie, nachos and hashbrown recipes in my life!!!

as my suggestion, maybe healthy ravioli or tortellini?
will be sure to comment more as others come to mind :)

  23. Tonya says

Mayo!! Please please please!! I keep trying DIY mayonnaise recipes and they suck! If anyone can make a yummy, healthy mayo – it’s you! I’m looking for one that is sweet, like Hellmans.
Thank you for all your work! My family and I have been truly enjoying your creations! :)

Hope to see you back soon!

Croissants, croissants, croissants, please! Oh, how I miss them <3 I need the flaky, buttery goodness in my life. I know it can't be an easy thing to make low calorie and healthy, but if anyone can do it I know you can!

    • Dulcie de Kock says

Ooh la la, your croissant suggestion is ingenious, Haley! Croissants are one of the best breakfasts that this world has to offer. Foodie Fiasco would undoubtedly be a better place with this delicious pastry- healthified! Thank you for your kind words, we shall see what we can do!

      • Ann H. says

i have tried the cheesecake cookies but its just not the same. thanks but i will be waiting and hoping for a single serve microwave cheesecake at some point. thanks again

        • Dulcie de Kock says

I understand, Ann! You don’t just want a bit of cheesecake flavor; you want to be able to microwave the whole cheesecake(and eat it too;-))! And understandably so, as the traditional cheesecake consistency is hard to replace. You will be notified as soon as we whip up something tasty! Thank you for your request!

Awesome suggestion, Javonni! Santa’s favorite is definitely a must-bake. We’ll work hard towards reaching your request! Remember to stay updated my subscribing to Foodie Fiasco’s mailing list:-)

  30. says

So, I recently became gluten-free for heath reasons, and it’s a holiday tradition for my family to dip the Keebler’s Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies in chocolate every year. Is there anyway to healthify the Keebler’s cookies? Gluten-free Keeblers PB Sandwiches would literally make me cry with joy.

    Please consider, and thank you!

  31. Ann says

Hi Kelly! I have a suggestion for an absolutely scrumptious dessert: Better Than Sex Cake. You’ve likely heard of it. The makeover may actually be pretty easy! I have made the original time and time again, and it’s ridiculous in taste and ridiculous in easy factor. (Also in calorie, carb, sugar, and fat count…) It is made by baking a boxed chocolate cake mix, according to package directions, then poking holes in it and pouring sweetened condensed milk, along with optional caramel (like the jarred stuff for topping ice cream), all over the cake. ~I always add caramel, common!~ After it has cooled completely and absorbed all the moisture, you spread a package of Cool Whip and finish with a generous sprinkling of Heath toffee bits. The measurements are a 9×18 inch cake as boxed mixed typically yield, half a can sweetened c.milk (little over half a cup), half a cup caramel or so, an 8 oz tub Cool Whip, and a cup or so of Heath bits. I would think that you could replace the boxed cake with one of your chocolate cake recipes (wheat free? pretty please?), s.c. milk with your recipe, caramel wit your recipe, cool whip with whipping the coconut cream at the top of full-fat cans of coconut milk (this only works for me if they stood for WEEKS in the fridge), and the to

  32. Ann says

*and the toffee bits could be made by two steps, me think! First, you could probably cook your caramel recipe thing some extra minutes, enough so it wouldn’t burn but would harden once it cooled, and pour it into a glass pan. After that cools you could poor on top an equal amount of melted chocolate, let cool, and break into bits. Or pulse in food processor a few seconds. I realize I could probably experiment and do all this myself, but I’d rather let an expert handle it!
Last thing: if you make this, could you pleeeeeeease go for totally low carb? It’s my current diet restriction. Thanks!!!!’

    • Dulcie de Kock says

This is a beyond wonderful suggestion, Ann! This could be the new Better Than Better Than Sex Cake! Phew-that’s a mouthful! It would undoubtedly taste more delicious because you know that you can really enjoy a slice and not worry about what you’re putting into your body! This is definitely a recipe that should and likely could be made fairly easily! We are on it:-) & low carb it is!!!

  33. Ashley :-D says

Hi, I was wondering if you could make a recipe for a cauliflower pizza. I saw that you made another pizza recipe but I am trying to eat more veggies this year ( just this year I actually tried vegetables for the first time in my life …heheheh, Whoops). Anyway I just discovered your AMAZING website and everything looks sooooo good!

  34. Pearl says

  35. Katelyn says

Hey Kelly!! I would love to see the following:
    vanilla cappuccino
    gingerbread cookies
    little Debbie gingerbread men
    more single servings
    more bread loaves
maybe syrups for lattes?? like the caramel syrup and vanilla syrup that you can buy from starbucks
    oatmeal recipes
    more muffins

  36. Marissa says

Love love love your recipes but I NEED one more that’s already sort of on this list of things you want to make: horchata. Have you seen those little packets (and big containers) of horchata (and other aguas frescas) powders at the grocery store next to the mio and crystal light and all that? Well I got one that wants 3 parts water and 1 part milk per serving and that’s great and all but I want to add unflavored protein to it to make it into a protein shake. I guess I’m asking you to try that powder and protein powder and liquid and give us some ratios! It’d be great if they worked for multiple powders and not just the horchata one, too. If you happen to see this and figure something out, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
